Scheduling a task in Windows requires a few steps which are detailed below. It basically involves selecting an application and then selecting how often it needs to be launched. Windows takes care of the rest automatically. Step-by-step instructions: - Click 'Start'
- Click 'Control Panel'. This opens the control panel.
- If you see a link on the left side that says 'Switch to Classic View' then click it. If you do not see this, skip to the next step.
- Double-click the 'Scheduled Tasks' icon. This opens the Scheduled Task Wizard. If the wizard does not automatically open, double-click the "Add Scheduled Task" icon.
- Click the 'Next' button. This opens a list of programs installed on your computer.
- Select the program you want to schedule, and click the 'Next' button.
- On the next screen, click on one of the options to select how often you want this task to occur.
The options are:
- Daily
- Weekly
- Monthly
- One time only
- When my computer starts
- When I log on
If Daily Was Selected:
- Where it says 'Start time:', enter the exact time you wish for this task to run.
- Under 'Perform this task:' select either 'Every Day', 'Weekdays' or 'Every X days' depending on how often is needed.
- Where it says 'Start date:' enter the day this task should occur for the first time.
- Click the 'Next' button. This will take you to the next screen.
- Where it says 'Enter the user name:', enter the user who owns this task. Your current username should be entered already.

- Click the 'Next' button.
- Click the 'Finish' button.
