For those who need advanced system monitoring, SpeedFan is the recommended free utility for viewing the computer's temperature and how fast the fans are spinning. It can display and adjust the RPM speeds for the CPU fan, chassis fans and any others which may be connected. It shows the temperatures in centigrade of the CPU, GPU and hard drive with support for SCSI. This includes the temp. of each core in a multi-core processor. On a more detailed level, it has the capability to access S.M.A.R.T. information about the HDD. When minimized, it places an icon in the system try which reads how hot the hard drive is. The voltage meter is also a useful feature.
